Cathedral Confession Schedule

Sundays 10:00 am – 10:30 am
Wednesdays 11:30 am – 12:00 pm
Saturdays 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm

The priest will need time to prepare to celebrate Mass after each of these scheduled times, which will make any last-minute arrivals difficult to accommodate. Please plan to arrive early and be considerate of the posted times. Thank you.

 

Welcome Fr. Michael Casey to the Cathedral Parish


Fr. Shanley is happy to announce that Fr. Michael Casey will be our new Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. His start date is this Monday, March 13th. Fr. Casey is excited to begin his time of ministry at the Cathedral and greatly looks forward to meeting and working with all who worship here. Please take the time to welcome him to our parish family!
Fr. Casey was born and raised in Waterbury, CT. He studied at St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia for four years and was then sent to the North American College in Rome, where he completed his priestly formation. Fr. Casey was ordained a priest on May 11, 2013 and the following year remained in Rome to complete a license in moral theology. Since his return home from Rome, he has served at St. James Parish in Manchester and most recently at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in: Next Sunday, March 19th at 3 pm, please join us at the Cathedral of St. Joseph for the 2017 Archdiocesan St. Waterbury. Fr. Casey has also served this past year as chaplain to Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury.

 

 

2017 Fortnight for Freedom


Rosary Prayer Committee Schedule: From June 21st-July 4th, our Rosary Prayer Committee is meeting every day so that, together, we may recite the Rosary and use the daily prayers in the Fortnight for Freedom Booklets. We meet in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The Fortnight for Freedom booklets are in the entrances of the Cathedral. You can also find the prayers online in English and Spanish at usccb.org.
Holy Hour: On Saturday, July 1st, we will have our monthly Holy Hour after the 9 am Mass. Come join us from 9:30-10:30 am for Exposition, Fortnight for Freedom Prayer, Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Reposition!.

 

 

Foodshare Truck:

Every other Wednesday, Foodshare has a mobile truck that comes to the Asylum parking lot located behind the Cathedral from 11:30 am-12:15 pm. Volunteers from Foodshare hand out fresh produce to Asylum Hill area residents who are in need. Stop by this Wednesday, June 21st! Foodshare also provides this service to other communities around CT.
