Dear Colleague,

I am writing to you as the Music Director for the Cathedral of Saint Joseph along with the Office Manager for the Music Department.

Archbishop Mansell would like every Catholic of the Archdiocese to have many opportunities to visit our beautiful Cathedral and enjoy our Mother Church.   His enthusiastic support triggered our efforts to create new programs in order to achieve this wonderful goal of bringing as many people as possible to the Cathedral.  These programs will include concert series, tours and a very special program which is the reason for this letter to you.

We would like to invite you to join the community of interested choirs who will participate in a Saturday Vigil Mass at 4:00 pm between September through May here at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph.  Your choir will be asked to provide a musical selection for the Preparation of Gifts and Communion.  You will also be asked to participate during the Ordinary of the Mass well as to sing the hymns already chosen by the Cathedral staff.  The Cathedral will provide both cantor and organist.

If at this particular time or perhaps next year you wish to participate by bringing your adult or children’s choir to the Cathedral, do not hesitate to call Sylma Pagán at (860) 249-7655 in order to schedule your visit.  We encourage you to call with any questions that you may have as well and we assure you that you and your choir will be very welcome at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph.
